Where it started
“What size is she now?”
Baby Sesame began with a shopping trip to a local retailer. Our founder wanted to surprise their goddaughter with a new outfit for the season — something picked out just for her, simply because.
But there was one detail missing: her current size. Asking her parents would take away the spontaneity. The frustration wasn’t about shopping. It was about not having a little piece of information that could make a thoughtful moment so easy.
In a world full of technology, where we’re all so connected, why weren’t those details already at our fingertips?
The surprise should be the gift — not whether it fits.
It quickly became about more than sizes.
What was her favorite character at the time? What was she really into? What would make her face light up?
The idea grew from knowing a size to knowing the child — their changing interests, their favorites, the moments coming up, and the gifts they would genuinely love.
That’s how Baby Sesame was born: one place for the details that help family and friends give something personal, keep surprises possible, and take the guesswork out of gift giving.
